Household Hazardous Waste Collection Grant
To help communities manage homeowner generated hazardous wastes, the State of New Hampshire administers a Household Hazardous Waste grant program. More information can be found here.
Grants are awarded to eligible sponsors at a designated per capita rate for the communities served, up to half the cost of the collection. HHW collection projects have requirements that must be completed to be eligible for the grant monies; details can be found in the grant application package. One requirement is the educational component, about which the link below can give you more information.
The grant program requires that communities conduct educational activities about household hazardous wastes. These educational programs should teach about potential dangers and the proper means for disposal, as well as information about ways to reduce the generation of HHW. To help communities with the educational component, the Department maintains examples of pamphlets, press releases, advertisements, videos and other informational materials.
