Medical Waste
Prescription medications, vitamins, over-the-counter medications, and veterinary medications should NEVER be flushed down the toilet or poured down the drain—they contaminate our drinking water. If there is no medical waste collection, leave the medicine in the original container, mix liquids with flour and tablets with water to prevent theft and abuse. Wrap to disguise the container and discard with regular waste.
Drop-off
Contact your town to see if medical waste will be collected at HHW collection days or at the local police department.
