Waste Management

Information for Municipal Waste Management

This site provides municipal information from and about the towns and cities of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Region. It is hoped that the municipalities will share information with each other in the spirit of cooperation and find ways to more efficiently share the responsibility of managing their materials and wastes.

The municipalities have been working on solid waste issues and inter-municipal cooperation for several years. The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission provides transfer station attendant lunch meetings throughout the year to engender inter-municipal communication and friendly relationships to encourage cooperative waste management.

The UVLSRPC has received several U.S. Department of Agriculture grants to work with region municipalities on issues of waste management from transfer station operations to composting to household hazardous waste collections.
